Paint correction is a process that removes imperfections from your vehicle’s paint, restoring its clarity and shine. A 1-step paint correction is ideal for cars with light swirl marks and minor defects. It uses a single polishing stage to enhance gloss and reduce imperfections by about 60-70%, giving your car a dramatically refreshed and vibrant appearance.

A 2-step paint correction is a more intensive process for vehicles with deeper scratches, oxidation, and heavier swirl marks. It involves a dedicated cutting stage to aggressively remove defects, followed by a refining polish to restore a smooth, mirror-like finish. This process brings back the depth and clarity of your paint (removing 85-95% of defects), making your car look better than new.

Does paint correction remove scratches?

It removes swirl marks and light scratches that sit in the clear coat. Deeper scratches, the kind your fingernail catches on, can usually be reduced but may not disappear completely if they go through the clear coat. We'll check your paint and tell you what to expect before we start.

Does paint correction fix rock chips?

No. A rock chip is missing paint, so it needs touch-up paint rather than polishing. Paint correction can make the paint around it look much better, and a ceramic coating or paint protection film helps prevent new damage.

Can paint correction remove water spots and oxidation?

Usually, yes. Etched water spots and sun oxidation that live in the clear coat can typically be removed or greatly reduced with polishing, which is why faded South Florida paint often looks new again after a correction.

What's the difference between 1-step and 2-step paint correction?

A 1-step correction is a single polishing stage that adds a big boost in gloss and removes lighter defects. A 2-step correction uses a cutting compound first and then a refining polish, for the deepest defect removal and the highest gloss. We'll recommend the right level for your paint.

How long does paint correction last?

The correction itself is permanent, because the defects are removed, not filled. New swirls come back from improper washing, so protecting the finish with a ceramic coating and washing by hand keeps it looking corrected for years.

Should I get a ceramic coating after paint correction?
